Guest Bedroom Changes

I've been wanting to paint the headboard & footboard in our guest bedroom for quite awhile now.  My best friend stayed with us recently and when I stripped the bed to wash the sheets I thought to myself "what a perfect time to go ahead and paint!".

I don't have a true "before" picture but you can catch a glimpse of the honey-colored footboard in this post.  I used a cream-colored paint and then very lightly added a light green in trim areas - I wiped it so the color is faint.

I'm so happy with the result and wish I had done this project a long time ago!

Hi Ho Silver - Part Two

About a month ago I shared pictures of my new (old) barley twist tea cart that displays many of my silver plate pieces.  I mentioned then that I would soon have another display for the rest of my collection.

I found this plate rack on ebay and it's now hanging in our dining room.  I love the bottom shelf that is larger and doesn't have the crosspiece - perfect for displaying these items!

My inspiration for this display came from Patina Green - a wonderful shop on the Square in McKinney, Texas.  Check out this photo from the shop that Kaci posted:



This rack is very large - unfortunately I didn't have the space to accommodate it.  But isn't it just awesome?!  Look at all of the salt/pepper sets on that bottom shelf - love!

Bunches of Benches

Happy Friday friends!  I've been painting quite a few benches and I wanted to share pictures.

Love the variety - this has been a fun diversion from furniture!

Dining with Shimmer

Back in January I showed you these chairs that I painted for a client.  Then I located the perfect fabric for the seats and painted the matching table.  My client had the seats recovered and placed the dining set in her shop beautifully.  Take a look:

I can't wait for this gorgeous ensemble to make it's way to someone's home and add shimmer to their dining room!

Favorite Purchases

A couple of posts ago I shared photos of LaurieAnna's gorgeous shoppe in Canton.  Now, I'll show you a few of my favorite purchases from that visit:

This plate rack was by far my favorite find!  Two of the plates in the rack also came from LaurieAnna's.

I got this wreath that I hung on the door of our antique secretary that stays open.

I got these glass bottles and added them to my shelf that was purchased at LaurieAnna's the last time we were there.

And I got this vintage button ring from Dee Dee Style.  I think the top button is a Boy Scout button and it says "BE PREPARED" - I just love it!
