No Vacancy!

I do actually have a method to my madness.  See, my treasures that need to be worked on, painted, etc. start out in the garage.  Once they are completed they move into our guest bedroom for pricing and clean storage.  Well, since I have a couple of craft shows coming up the guest bedroom has...um...sort of...been taken over!

Friends and family - have no fear as we have several sleeping bags available!

Industrial Display

I have collected a few industrial display pieces that I'm excited to use when I participate as a vendor.  Here is a picture of a couple of my crates and things:

So, share your thoughts with me on this.  Do you hate it when you see "Not For Sale" or "Display Only" on items when you are shopping?  Is it better to price items that you hope to keep really high?  Excited to see some comments on this - thanks!

A weekend getaway

Just got back from a little weekend getaway to Louisiana.  We take a saltwater fishing trip to Louisiana every Fall.  It never disappoints!  Here is a picture from our trip last year.  In case you don't know - those are trout and Redfish.  Super fun to catch and really good to eat!

Can't you just feel the excitement?!

Now, if Hubby saw this title he would surely think I was going to post about the Texas Rangers - and don't get me wrong it's VERY exciting that the Rangers are making history right now.  Hubby says he has been waiting (not so patiently I might add) for this event to come since he was a teenager!

Actually this post is about shopping at LaurieAnna's on Saturday.  Check out her most recent post and you'll see what I mean - can't you just feel the excitement?

The Perfect Card Holder

I recently had business cards made.  Mom and I are participating in a couple of craft shows in November and I thought it would be nice to promote my blog.  Since I've been really into gray lately I, of course, used gray in the design of my cards.  And I knew before I even received them that they would be placed in this:

Isn't the tarnish just perfect?  And look - it's footed!  I heart footed pieces!

Pardon My French

We had a busy weekend, but I went in to "night owl mode" and finished a few projects.  Several just happen to have a French theme (surprise, surprise).  I used Mod Podge to apply this great French text to a wooden tray.  I love the shape of this tray.

Then you have the classic Fleur de lis - classic in shape anyway - I made it fun with the zebra print!  I love the glass drawer pull I added to this - it would be great for necklaces.  This is another drawer facing that I repurposed.

Then I applied these awesome French labels to make these great glass pieces even better:

Fun Chair Re-Do

This great chair was purchased from an Estate Sale recently.  I'm kicking myself for not taking a "before" picture!  Anyway, here is the "after" - love the bright and fun fabric!

Watch for Signs Ahead

I was able to complete a couple more signs today.  Both of these were made from drawer facings that I purchased at a Habitat Re-Store.

I added a couple of glass knobs to this one - wouldn't it be great for hanging necklaces on?

I see projects

Mom and I visited a Habitat Re-Store today and, well...

This is a shot of my trunk after we unloaded mom's treasures. Yes - I'll share with you what all this becomes!

Bulletin Board Makeover

I found this previously loved bulletin board today.  It's the inexpensive type that are always natural-colored wood and cork.  Lucky for me this one had been painted white and a nice wire hanger had been added to the back.

I added some linen-look fabric with white undertones, a ribbon across the top, a small wire across the ribbon and a couple of sweet little embellishments on the wire.

I really feel like being Candice Olsen right now and saying "how divine".

Here's your sign!

Hope you have all had a wonderful Saturday!  We are still experiencing fabulous weather here in North Texas.

I seem to have collected several pieces of wood just waiting to be made into signs.  So...I've been working on a few small signs.  Take a look:

The oval signs are just under 10 inches wide.

The green one is about 13 inches wide and I added a fleur de lis hook.
I have more wood waiting for me so stay tuned for additional completed signs!

White Pumpkins

I must admit I've never really been a fan of the little white pumpkins.  In the past I've just wanted to say "c'mon people, pumpkins are supposed to be orange!".  But that has all changed and I'm LOVING the white pumpkins this year!  If you are still on the fence check out these amazing photos from Raised in Cotton.

Here's my favorite

Enjoy this beautiful Fall weather and have a wonderful Wednesday!

Fall is in the air

The weather was gorgeous this weekend!  Both boys had baseball and it was so nice to be outside.

I didn't have much time for projects this weekend, but did manage to complete a few small things.

Hopefully these items will be finding their way to a new home soon!

Plain Jane Table

A dear friend of mine was moving and had several items she no longer needed.  She gave me this sweet little plain jane table.

I used Mod Podge to apply herringbone wrapping paper to the top.  I attached a frame to the top for a little added definition.  Then I added an old, shabby key hole plate.

Not so plain jane anymore!

Blog Makeover

So...I've learned a little bit about Blogger over the last month but I decided to turn to a professional for a new template design.  I learned about Designer Blogs from a fellow blogger.  They are so easy to work with - you get started online and then make revisions with your designer via e-mail.

I think it's a nice change - what do you think?
