Late March Events

Hi friends!  As I was working on my April events post, I realized I needed a separate one for late March events.

So we'll dive in to Round Top/Warrenton/Marburger.  The official dates you'll find posted are March 28th-April 7th.  However, let's take a look at what Curious Boys have already been up to here, here and here.  Theresa of Garden Antqs Vintage will be at Zapp Hall starting March 30th.  Check out J Hill Designs for information on Marburger Farms.  Time Worn Interiors will also be at Marburger Farms.  Rusted Gingham has some good details in this post - including a map and some helpful links.  Many, many bloggers will be set-up - too many to mention - but suffice it to say THIS IS THE SHOW OF THE YEAR!

First Monday Trade Days in Canton is also going on March 29th-April 1st.

And the Junkadoodle Spring Flea Market is March 31st from 9:00-6:00.  Visit here for more info.

Be safe for all of those traveling to Texas!

Texas On My Mind

I spent the weekend in Louisiana with our youngest son for a baseball tournament.  I love Louisiana and have traveled there many times for everything from saltwater fishing to plantation tours.  I enjoy traveling and have been blessed with the opportunity to visit many states.  We have family in both Arkansas and Missouri - both beautiful states with gorgeous scenery.  I loved my stays in Nashville, Savannah, and Charleston.  Had a ball in Colorado, Washington and New York.  Many states and many memories but there is nothing like coming home.

I love Texas.  When I saw the "Welcome to Texas" roadside sign yesterday it was like a much-needed hug from a friend.  I love our State flag, I love the distinct shape of our state on the US map and I love our State flower.  Speaking of bluebonnets, check out this beautiful picture that Theresa of Garden Antqs Vintage took yesterday in Warrenton, Texas!  I know many of you will be traveling to Texas soon for Round Top/Marburger/Warrenton.  I hope you are shown the best Southern hospitality ever!

My cutting board is bigger than yours

That title is a bumper sticker in the making - ha!  I found this wonderful, large cutting board last Fall.  I knew instantly that I would have to wait for the perfect stencil to come along to make it what I envisioned.  Well, the perfect stencil came along and this baby is going to debut in my updated kitchen with the new backsplash!
I tried different lighting so you could see the design a little better:

I used Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Graphite for the design, let it cure overnight and then sanded for a worn look.

Here is a photo from a distance so you can get a feel for the size:

It compliments the color of my cabinets perfectly and it's nice to have something new in this spot because I've had the same thing there for years.

Hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!

Minor Face Lift

No, not me...well I did turn 40 this month...but, no my kitchen!  It's not complete yet, but I just had to share one quick photo.  We are getting new backsplash!
It's 1x2 marble in a brick pattern and I love it!

In the recent photo below you can catch a glimpse of what we had.
Yep, that's 12x12 floor tile on the diagonal.  Had it for 10 years...won't miss it!

I'll share more photos when it's all complete!

This Past Weekend at Treasure Spotters Market

Hi friends.  I never shared pictures of our updated booth before the sale in McKinney last weekend.  We brought in lots of Spring accents.
Don't you just feel like you want to go plant flowers?

Treasure Spotters has the BEST vendors and I'm so proud to call them my friends.  They helped me celebrate the LORDY, LORDY LOOK WHO'S 40 and got me this beautiful cake!

Come see us in McKinney for our one-day sale on Saturday, March 17th!

Spring Show at LaurieAnna's in Canton

Mom and I hit the road early this morning to be some of the first to see the unveiling of LaurieAnna's shoppe all decked out for Spring.  We went last year as well and knew from experience that LaurieAnna and her crew had been working hard all month to completely re-create the shoppe.  And re-create they did...

I spend the most time admiring the structure behind the fluff - the windows, columns, mantels, doors, corbels - so much architectural goodness!

And the lighting - give LaurieAnna 6 inches of space and she's adding a chandelier!

Yes, she's added a fabric room - genius.

And of course I couldn't do a post on LaurieAnna's and not have a photo of a scale - she loves them!  We had a wonderful time and our weather was perfect today as well.

As I mentioned in this post, I purchased my giveaways at the shoppe today - I'll be sharing those tomorrow!
