Changes in the Master Bedroom

Our furniture in the master bedroom is old and the typical matchy-matchy 5 piece set.  I've wanted to make changes for a while now but our existing furniture is good & solid.  Also, everything I like is pricey.  An example is the tufted headboard I've been eyeing for a couple of years now.  Ballard offers this one:
Camden Tufted Headboard

It would be about $610 with shipping.  Pottery Barn offers this one:
Raleigh Nailhead Camelback Bed, Full., Twill Parchment

Headboard only is $674 before tax.

Luckily, I learn about great deals from my wonderful blog friends.  I was reading one of the "best transformations of 2010" posts about a guest bedroom makeover and a tufted headboard was used that was purchased at Target.  Target - are you kidding me - who knew?!  I quickly went to the Target site and much to my surprise I found the headboard and it was $299 for a queen!

So, here is our bed before:

And here is the new headboard I ordered in parchment:

Seeing all of the fabric at the end of the bed feels so much softer.  It also feels roomier at the end of the bed - I feel like there is room for a little bench now - hmmm.

Stay tuned for a couple of other small reveals in the master bedroom.

I love the headboard! You must have also purchased a bed frame since the foot board is gone too? Thanks for the great Target tip.
